HOW TO HELP

YCC of Ghana wants to plead with all concern health volunteers to come to the aid of the deprived communities and below is job description for our volunteers in the health sector.

Depending on the knowledge and experience of the volunteer, the volunteer will do consultations, prescribe, treat and help to look after the patients. The services provided by the clinic are: minor medical and surgical treatment, pregnancy testing, antenatal care, and deliveries, post natal, child welfare and family planning. Because of the weak staffing of the clinic/health post, a volunteer with a more advanced medical knowledge will fast occupy a prominent position in the clinic.

Volunteers will explain and raise the awareness about HIV/AIDS. This includes explaining how one acquires HIV/AIDS, the use of condoms, the essence of voluntary counseling and testing and to attend programs on life-planning skills. Volunteers will talk to traditional chiefs (who play an important role), go from house to house and talk to larger groups, such as schools and institutions.

The volunteer for health should either be a medical student, medical practitioners, Nurses or student nurses and other stakeholders are equally welcome. If you think you are suitable for the job for any other reason.
